EDP – Enterprise Development Programme
(A Collaborative Framework for Sustainable Advanced Agricultural Development)
Project Summary:
The Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) is a strategic initiative launched by BDKrishi to foster innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. Under this programme, individual or organizational innovators will collaborate with BDKrishi on an ownership-based model to implement Advanced Agricultural Projects aimed at transforming traditional farming practices into modern, productive, and sustainable systems.
Project Purpose:
To establish a collaborative platform where agricultural innovators can implement, scale, and own their projects in partnership with BDKrishi—ensuring mutual growth, shared risk, and a long-term impact on sustainable agricultural development.
Implementation Model:
- Innovators will propose and lead their Advanced Agricultural Projects, with technical and strategic support from BDKrishi.
- The project will operate under the guidance of a High-Level Committee, ensuring strategic alignment, transparency, and accountability throughout the implementation process.
- All project details—including scope, execution plan, and operational strategy—must be presented in a comprehensive execution proposal submitted by the innovator.
Partnership Structure:
- The ownership of the project will be jointly held by the innovator and BDKrishi.
- BDKrishi will serve as a strategic partner, offering platform access, technical guidance, infrastructure support, and market linkage.
- Revenue and losses generated from the project will be shared among collaborators based on a mutual agreement or a proposal from the innovator, defined in the contractual terms.
- A legally binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the innovator and BDKrishi, clearly outlining all terms and conditions of the collaboration.
Key Components of the MoU:
- Execution Plan – Detailed scope, timeline, milestones, and performance indicators.
- Roles & Responsibilities – Clearly defined contributions, obligations, and ownership rights of each party.
- Governance Structure – Strategic oversight and monitoring by the High-Level Committee.
- Financial Terms – Investment responsibilities, revenue-sharing models, and loss absorption mechanisms.
- Sustainability Focus – Integration of environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles into the project design.
- Intellectual Property – Ownership and usage rights of innovations and outputs.
- Risk Management & Dispute Resolution – Mechanisms to address conflicts, risks, and project exit strategies.
Expected Impact:
- Acceleration of agricultural innovation, driven by entrepreneurial and locally relevant models.
- Empowerment of innovators through ownership, decision-making, and revenue participation.
- Development of scalable, sustainable agri-enterprises, aligned with national food security and rural development agendas.
- Reinforcement of BDKrishi’s role as a national enabler of agri-innovation, entrepreneurship, and enterprise growth.
Steps of EDP:
- Call for Proposals – Submission of detailed project concepts from interested innovators.
- Evaluation & Selection – Screening based on innovation, feasibility, and sustainability potential.
- MoU Signing – Formal agreement with selected innovators based on the approved execution proposal.
- Implementation & Monitoring – Project rollout and tracking under the supervision of the High-Level Committee.
- Scaling & Replication – Successful models will be scaled at regional or national levels.
